FlockYou Pro

Flock Camera Detector with LED + Audio Alerts WiFi ALPR Awareness Tool with Visual and Chirp Alerts

The FlockYou Pro is our most complete Flock Safety camera awareness tool, built on the M5Stack Atom Echo ESP32 platform and preloaded with FlockYou-style WiFi detection firmware. It combines both an RGB NeoPixel LED indicator and an onboard speaker, so you get simultaneous visual and audible alerts when a suspected Flock camera is nearby with no screen, phone app, or laptop required.

Available exclusively in white.

This is a passive awareness and research tool only. It does not jam, disable, bypass, interfere with, authenticate to, or connect to Flock Safety cameras or any other networked device.

The firmware is based on open-source FlockYou research and tooling from Colonel Panic and the public colonelpanichacks/flock-you GitHub project.

Key Features

  • Built on the compact M5Stack Atom Echo ESP32 development board
  • Preloaded with FlockYou-inspired WiFi detection firmware
  • Passively scans 2.4 GHz WiFi frames for known Flock Safety camera indicators
  • Uses known Flock-related WiFi OUI signatures and wildcard probe behavior
  • RGB NeoPixel LED provides real-time visual status: green while scanning, red flash on detection
  • Audible chirp alert through the onboard speaker when a new suspected Flock device is detected
  • Periodic quiet heartbeat beep while a suspected Flock device remains in range
  • Startup boot sound and rainbow LED sweep confirm the detector is powered on and ready
  • USB-C powered for use in a vehicle, bag, desktop, or mobile setup
  • No cloud account, subscription, or internet connection required for standalone alerting
  • Compact 24 mm x 24 mm white enclosure
  • Educational and research-focused counter-surveillance awareness tool

Hardware Details

This unit is based on the M5Stack Atom Echo ESP32 IoT Development Kit, featuring:

  • ESP32-PICO-D4 dual-core processor
  • 2.4 GHz WiFi support
  • Built-in 3D antenna
  • USB-C power and programming
  • Integrated RGB NeoPixel LED indicator
  • Onboard speaker
  • Compact white plastic enclosure
  • Programmable button
  • 4 MB flash

How to Use

Plug the detector into a USB-C power source such as a wall adapter, power bank, laptop, or vehicle USB adapter. Once powered on, the device plays a short boot melody and sweeps a rainbow through the LED to confirm startup, then settles to solid green — indicating it is actively scanning.

When a suspected Flock Safety camera signature is detected, the LED flashes red and the speaker plays two ascending chirps. If that suspected device stays nearby, a quiet heartbeat beep sounds roughly every 10 seconds so you always know something is still in range — even if the LED isn't in direct view.

For best results:

  • Place the device where it has a clear view of nearby wireless signals
  • Avoid burying it inside metal enclosures, glove boxes, or heavily shielded areas
  • Use it while walking, driving, or surveying an area where ALPR or surveillance camera presence is being researched
  • Treat detections as indicators, not absolute proof
  • Confirm findings with additional research, public records, visual observation, or mapping tools where appropriate

Detection range and reliability can vary based on distance, antenna orientation, building materials, vehicle placement, local WiFi congestion, and how the nearby camera hardware is configured.

Using with the FlockYou Dashboard / App

The device can also be used with the FlockYou dashboard where supported by the installed firmware configuration.

To use it with the dashboard:

  1. Connect the device to a computer using USB-C.
  2. Install the FlockYou dashboard requirements from the public GitHub project.
  3. Launch the dashboard software from the api folder.
  4. Open the local dashboard in your browser.
  5. Select the serial port for the connected device.
  6. Detections appear live in the dashboard when the device observes matching WiFi signatures.

Important Notes

Detection is based on passive observation of nearby WiFi behavior and known public research signatures. Results may vary depending on distance, signal strength, camera configuration, firmware changes, surrounding WiFi noise, and environmental conditions.

This device is intended for security research, privacy education, and lawful surveillance-awareness use only. Always follow applicable local laws regarding wireless monitoring and public-space research.

This device does not disable, jam, bypass, interfere with, or connect to Flock Safety cameras or any other networked device. It is a passive awareness tool only.
